Hi my name is Lani and I am a girl who is doing her best to get the best out of our community. I love where I live and live to laugh and enjoy life to it’s fullest. I am a cook, preserver (is that a word), gardener, quilter dot dot dot …it goes on and on oh I’m a doing all I can to be sustainable ….At the beginning of 2011 I made it my mission to get my community of canner/preservers, bakers, gardeners, and foragers together to swap their edible creations, share stories, and develop new friendships.
This Swap was a brain child of Hip Girl Kate who got the ball rolling many moons ago and it has just gotten betta and betta. Last February I noticed a Facebook link starting in LA for an LAX Food Swap. I was in and stayed in touch with Emily the founder of LAX Food Swap. I booked my ticket for her event and the rest is history.
Share in amazing homemade food, build community and empower each other to turn home food production from a hobby to a habit this is the Mission Statement started by our Sister Swap MPLS and it continues with your participation…..
Swapping
Whatever you make/forage/grow/brew/etc: home-canned vegetables and fruits, pickles, jams, chutneys, jellies, vinegars, kombucha, sauerkraut and other ferments, cheeses, breads, cakes, starters, honey, granola, homegrown herbs and vegetables, foraged foods, handmade sausages, backyard eggs, soups, spreads, whatever else you make!
Everyone is Welcome, as long as you bring something you made/grew/foraged yourself!
My goal here is to bring people together to swap food …stories and life get back to basics…Please join us!
